My tattoo

I was ask to tell about my tattoo the other day so, I guess I will tell the story. So, here's my story and I'm sticking to it! Word of warning: Not the happiest of post, but it's okay because it's all behind me. This part of my life has made me the better person I am today.

My tattoo is a heart with wings, but the picture above is not mine, just similar. Matter fact this one is better. Mine also has AL inside it. (I tried to take picture of mine, but it is hard taking a picture of your upper chest!) So, on with my story...

My life before Dan or the kids I was married to a man named AL. (He put the word ASS in Jackass!) He was very abusive! Right after we got married he came home one night and said we were moving to California. We were in such a hurry I barely had time to tell my mom I was leaving or pack. I was sort of excited and scared all at the same time. While we were there, there was a man who was doing tattoos just above our apartment. I had always wanted a tattoo of a heart with wings, so I ask him to do me one. Just when he was done Al told him to put his name in the middle of my tattoo. I didn't won’t his name in my tattoo, but wasn't going to argue. Not only was I not happy with Al's name inside my tattoo, but I didn't like how the tattoo turned out. I have been telling Dan for the last 17 years I want the tattoo re-done and Al's name colored over or whatever they could do. Yes, I could die with this tattoo, but I refuse to die with that man's name on my chest.
If I had it to do all over I would have not had the tattoo done, but would have went to a professional. So, hopefully one of these days I will get my tattoo re-done.
Now, you have the short version of my long story and a glimpse into my book. (Shhhh!)

Someday you will get it fixed! Maybe have it colored in? Or if all it says is AL just add letters?

I was thinking just have them put a another heart over the letters,,,make it a two toned heart!! won't be so bad than!!! or change in your mind what those letters stand for!!!
And we have all done things similiar...right?
Iam just glad things are better in that area 4 u!!

Everyone has a past. Don't let it bother you too much. I am sure you will remedy the tattoo eventually.

I hope you get it fixed soon. Just for your sake. Glad the past is behind you. :)

I like the suggestions of thinking of it as standing for another word. That's what I would do until I could get it re-done. I would make it all heart again.

How about "all love"?

I think one of the reasons I'm not too keen on tattoos is the permanency. So I hope you can get it fixed so that you don't have a reminder of the past. There are some good suggestions for changing it.

If it's just that small, it won't cost much to get it redone. Go and treat yourself, get it off your chest, so to speak. : )

You can go see Dr. Will Kirby from Big Brother and Dr. 90210. He's such a hottie that it will actually be a PLEASURE to have your tattoo fixed by him, LOL.

I wouldn't worry myself about it. If that's the raunchiest thing in your past, frankly, my dear, you're an angel. ;-)

Indeed, tats are for life. I contemplate each one of mine for 1 year before committing to the ink (hence, I have 3 so far, and more planned). I really examine the idea before I make it happen.

The snap judgment he made on your behalf was unfair and disrespectful. Getting it redone/covered should be simple and inexpensive.

We all have a past.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m relieved you’re no longer with Al and that you have a supportive relationship now. Methinks making it a priority to get it ‘fixed’ so that you’re happy with it makes a lot of sense, and I hope you follow through sooner rather than later.
Hugs and blessings,

I hope you get it fixed one day. Nothing worse than regretting something in your past, except for a constant reminder of that regret;-).

You'll get it sorted one day. Thanks Bob you're away from Al though, he sounds scary.
