Some more of my silly kids

My kids enjoying our pool

Enjoying summer break!

This week has been great! I went and bought a pool for the kids and my husband and I. I was not able to get a very big one this year, but it's enough to get out in and enjoy. Since my dad passed away, I have decided to take more time with my husband and kids and enjoy them, instead of a little time here or there and the rest is momma/teacher/wife. I got to get this done ,I got to get that done, and ect., ect. My kids have really enjoyed mom & dad taking time to relax and do more QT with them. They are only young once, so we better enjoy tham as much as possible. Don't get me wrong, when it's time to start back with the school stuff we will just like always, but I'm gonna take more time with them outside of school work and house work. So what if my house isn't cleaned 1 day.LOL! That's my biggest pet peeve.

Buuerflies

My little girl wanted us to look up butterflies.
I found the most fasinating butterfly. It may not be that intreging
to yall, but I just had to share.
Greta oto is one of a number of similar transparent winged butterflies. It comes from central America, and is found from Mexico to Panama. It is quite common in its zone, but it not easy to find because of its transparent wings, which is a natural camouflage mechanism.Family: NymphalidaeGenus: IthomiinaeLatin name: Greta otoCommon name: The Glasswing

schooling through the summer

Since February I have been working only on my kids weaknesses. I have put their curriculum away till August. This summer we still planning on doing some tutoring over at the Mid-South Theropy center. Also I plan on going around the house pricing everything and playing store to help teach Kb the concept of money and also for all 3 can learn how to add taxes, and count money back without using a caculator or something. I want them to enjoy their summer and not get too burned out with schooling, but I still think it's important to do somethings with them that they will think is fun , but learning in the process. I feel that if I'm able to strenghten their weaknesses they will enjoy school more when we actually start back in August. I'm hoping to build their confidence back up where the school has knocked them down. That has alot to do with their anxieties.

The lovely life of hormones

I have always been worried about my little girl coming into the life of change. I have never thought much about how to deal with my boys. Till the last few mths, and boy it has slapped me all in the face. I guess being a girl , you worry about the girls cause you know what they will go through. I didn't realize that boys have a harder time than most girls. Oh my gosh! I have always tried to raise my kids to be good kids, but I didn't think about the truth of reality. Things they can't help!
The other day I got my cable bill in and it was $200! Someone had been ordering dirty movies. WHAT! On my TV. I was mad! My husband & I were gonna fight! I told the kids I was upset and do chores and not to push me. The next thing I know my oldest son is having a panic attacked. I had no clue! I rushed him to the ER. While the nurse was checking him out and asking questions, he said I need to talk to my momma. Did my mind ever get blowed. He said momma I have a problem and I'm loosing my mind! I'm having big boy problems. I felt so bad for getting so upset. Him and I went and had a big talk. I let him know that this was part of life. I also told him that I always exspected to mind not be perfect. (He had been ordering the movies. )
I understand in a way how he feels, but I don't know exactly how to help him.
If anyone has any suggestions, it would be apperciated.

BUBLES & MORE BUBLES

Last week we took Spring break. I thought that I would get alot of my pics on my blog but didn't. The kids and I were so busy. So, this week we started right back in the same ole same ole routine. Well, Tuesday my oldest child had an anxiety attack. I think it was over his spelling sheets. (I do know all of the why, but for the privacy of my child, we'll just leave it with his spelling. That was part.) So, Wed. I went to Wal-Mart and bought 4 bubble wonds with flavored bubbles. ($1-each) That was our schooling for Wed. We went out and played bubbles! Lots & lots of bubbles! We spelled with them, we did math, and a little science. Mostly we had fun!! That is the cool thing of Homeschooling. You know your kids very well and you work around their needs not some system.
Boy!, I love homeschooling more and more.

More about dealing with dyslexia

What's It Like to Have Dyslexia? If you have dyslexia, you might have trouble reading even simple words. You might mix up the letters in a word, for example, seeing the word "now" as "won" or "left" as "felt." Words may blend together and spaces are lost.
Color codeing your letters help your child know the difference between vowels, constants and blends.
Also with dylexia kids you can color code their work. You only alow them to work one small section at a time. At the very begining put a green mark to let them know to start and a red mark to let them to stop till futher instructions. This really helps the stress levels.

Dealing with LD kids

Living and dealing Ld kids has not always been easy, but can be rewarding. My little girl KB and my middle child JB have AHHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Audio Processing disorder.
Even thou they both have the same problems you have to deal with each child completly different. This can be so stressfull at times because they both demand so much one on one.
Just in the past week my little Kb read a sign at a store. The look on her face was priceless. We were both excited. You might of thought we just won something. She looked at me just a smiling and said, " Momma, All that hard work is finally working."
I'm still researching and learning more about how to help my children.

If any comments or suggestions please feel free.
Thanks, Kitten
