Tribute to the troops: Nickleback Double Feature

Thank you to all that has or is serving for our country!

My little world....

Is fixing to change more than it has for about 3 weeks. They couldn't get it set up for momma to be put in the Pontotoc Hospital for 3 weeks. The nearest place was Eupora, MS, which is about an hour or more away. They could only set her up for a week, so we are bringing her home today and doing Home Health Care for 3 weeks. Momma will be unable to stay by her self in these 3 weeks. So, the kids and I will have to get up and go there at 6:30 AM till someone can get there. More than likely about 5:30 or 6 in the afternoon. It will work out fine this way if the others jump in and help, but if they do like they have the past 2 1/2 weeks, well! All I can say is this next 3 weeks will prove how strong my marriage is.
Turns out that momma had Pneumonia and Hypoxia on top of the flu. She will coming home on oxygen this time also.
Boy! I have been able to online more than I thought in these few past weeks, but I'm wondering what these next 3 will bring. I know yall will be alright, but I love my "me" time. Which is mostly my computer! I guess we will just have to what and see. If I'm unable to do my computer time maybe I wont Jones too bad. LOL!
Take care and have a wonderful week end!

Just another day in my life

Yesterday my little brother gave me a break from the hospital. I really needed to clean, but instead I slept almost all day. This morning I woke up at 3 AM and started cleaning. The only sad part is I need to stop in the middle of it and get ready and go to the hospital. My kids have been good about washing dishes, washing clothes (not always folding and putting away), keeping things picked up, cleaning bathrooms and sweeping the floor. But this house really needs cleaning! Things are cluttered and other things that the kids don't do or think of needs done. Maybe when we get momma to Pontotoc Hospital, in the swing bed, I can spend more time at home. I'm not really sure yet, so we will just have to see. The good thing is that it is only 3 mins away, not 45 mins.
I'm not complaining, but I do wish my nieces and brothers would help me a little more. I have so much to do. All I can say is that when my momma does pass away (Lord!, I hope not soon!) I will not have any regret.
Well, I guess I need to get at a stopping point and get to the hospital.
Hope You Have a Wonderful & Blessed Day!

I'm so tired!

Momma has been in the hospital over 10 days. The 1st days was ICU and I would make 3-4 trips a day for I could be with my kids. I know that's a lot of gas, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Since she has been out of ICU, I have been there from early morning till bed time. I did stay last night, but had to come home to pay some bills. My little niece will stay the night to give me a break. They will be moving momma here to our hospital about Monday to a swing bed for therapy to get her strength back for she'll be able to go home. If she don't regain her strength in her muscles we will have to fix up a schedule to bring her home, because we don't won't her in a nursing home. Not that we have anything against them, it's because she has worked in them so many years, she don't wont to be put in one. She has been a nurse 45 years and it took all we had to get her to go to a swing bed. Maybe once we get her in a swing bed we can get back to a routine and back to schooling. Well, I'm gonna take a bath, go pay ills then take a nap!
Take care and hope yall have a wonderful week end!
Thanks for all your warm wishes!

Fun & silly day at the park Monday....

While momma was waiting to get put in a room. The videos below will show and tell all! Well, almost.
Momma is doing better I guess. We are out of ICU. Yesterday she was able to sit up and eat. She sat up for 2 hours the first time and 3 hours the second time. Today was her Birthday and the kids and I went to stay the whole day with her. To my surprise she had fell out her chair. She has lost muscle control, her mind seems to be sharp, but she is getting things confused. I thought maybe she had a stroke. I asked the head nurse and she said that momma was very sick and was not out of the woods. She said that momma had lack of oxygen and blood flow to the brain and we had a long road ahead. She said that one of us was going to have to stay 24-7 at the hospital. So, I guess I'm going in the morning to stay till someone can give me a break for the week end and then me stay all week, because everyone else works. So, at the moment we are just going to have to take it one day at a time. I wish I had a lap top computer.
Don't laugh to hard at me and my silly kids and I'll see ya when I can.
ENJOY!

Fun Sunday with my kids

Gosh! So, much as happened over the last few days. I have several post, but just so little time. I'll try to get the videos up of our Fun day at the park Monday later this week.
Momma got put in a room today. She still has a ways to go and we are not sure what it's going to be like when she gets to come home, because there was so much damage to her lungs. Like we needed that, but I'm just thankful we still have her.
Below is a few pictures and one video of the concert we went to Sunday. We had a blast! Or I should say the kids did. I had fun just watching them. The music was not my taste, except for Mercy Me, who played last. A group named Skillet played and what my kids enjoyed so much. I had no idea my kids like Hard rock/ head banger Christian music, but I do now. LOL! The bad thing that happened at the concert was a young girl knocked my big self all up in the floor. It's funny now, but sure wasn't at the time. All I could think of is, How Rude! she could have moved over, but didn't. We were standing still letting some of the crowd go by, standing in a straight line and holding on to each others shirt tail when this girl said, Excuse me, Move! Then rammed me and knock me down hard. It's not like she didn't have room and I was at the back of the line. I have no idea. Oh, well! It'll be alright. It will take a little while to get the videos up loaded since it takes an hour for each one and I'm spending most of my time at the hospital. Hopefully no later than this week end.
Gosh! The kids and I really needed them 2 days!

Fun Monday

Crown Princess is our hostess this week and here is her assignment. Music plays a vital role in most of our lives. It is everywhere. I want to hear the ONE song that is you. The song that whenever it is heard, you smile. I am not looking for the soundtrack of your life, just that one song. Your friends hear it and think of you. You can post the video, the lyrics, the wav file. However you want to post it is great.
I think this song best describes me. Especially right at this moment.

Dolly Parton-Eagle When She Flies

She's been there, God knows, she's been there
She has seen and done it all
She's a woman, she know how to
Dish it out or take it all
Her heart's as soft as feathers
Still she weathers stormy skies
And she's a sparrow when she's broken
But she's an eagle when she flies

A kaleidoscope of colors
You can toss her around and round
You can keep her in you vision
But you'll never keep her down
She's a lover, she's a mother
She's a friend and she's a wife
And she's a sparrow when she's broken
But she's an eagle when she flies

Gentle as the sweet magnolia
Strong as steel, her faith and pride
She's an everlasting shoulder
She's the leaning post of life
She hurts deep and when she weeps
She's just as fragile as a child
And she's a sparrow when she's broken
But she's an eagle when she flies

She's a sparrow when she's broken
But she's an eagle when she flies
Oh, bless her, Lord
She's an eagle when she flies

Willie Nelson - Always On My Mind

Troy (Ken) Keith, 67, died April 18, 2006 (My daddy) and today is his birthday.

Happy Birthday to my dad and update on momma

The video above is the music they played on a DVD with all our pictures and the life my daddy had with my step mom, Marcy and her 3 children. I was trying to upload the video/slide show, but wasn't able. Today it's really hard dealing with daddy's birthday. I guess cause my momma is in intensive care.
I just off the phone with momma's nurse. I'm jumping up and down with Joy, because her Dr had left a note Friday for us to have a meeting with him early Saturday morning. But, when I got there (My brother's have the flu, so I'm the only been able to go to the hospital) the Dr was very happy! He said momma improved so much through the night. He really thought we were going to have the Bad Talk. (If you get my drift) He told me that God still had plans for her and she wasn't through fighting. He said we still had a long ways to go. Well, instead of going to the hospital today the DR told me to go to church and go a head and take the kids to Winter Jam. (I'm going at 2 and bed time) So, I called this morning and the nurse said momma was off the veriset (SP?)(it's the medicine to keep her a sleep) They had cut her ventilator down to 8 yesterday, but was on 4 this morning. The are giving her strong pain meds and are going to see about giving her her meds she takes at home for she can wake up and they go a head and take her off the ventilator.
When I 1st started this post I thought it was going to be another sad one. Isn't God good! He helped turned my whole day around!
Thank you to everyone for your thoughts, good vibes, support, prayers and what ever else. I'm so thankful to have such good friends here in blogger world.

UPDATE

Remember momma's new puppy, Topper?

Well, this is him now. He has grown! He's going to stay at our house for a few day. He has done pretty good. He is real familiar with us. You can tell he misses momma. I couldn't leave him at her house all alone. The kids are enjoying having here. I mean he already was seeing us everyday and loved for us to come by because he had some play buddies. Now he has his play buddies 24-7. LOL!

This is all I know about Momma....My mom is in ICU at Tupelo. She got the flu and because of her other health problems, she was not able to fight this flu off. When she arrived at Tupelo she crashed and they had to resuscitate her. She had to be put on life support and is in a drug induced comma. I asked the Dr today if she would wake up. He said that she has not showed much improvement, but is stable. They will keep her in this state for 48-72 hours. We do not know how she will respond till then, but he feels she will bounce back. I know my mother is right with God, but I'm not ready to let go. She will be 62 in 8 days. So, we should now by Sunday or Monday how momma is going to do. I'm not even really sure how long she was without oxygen, probably not long since they were right there.
I really do appreciate all of you! Your thoughts, kind words, prayers or whatever. My kids are better. I have got to get back to the hospital and I'll be back to visit all of you in a day or 2.
Thank yall soo much!

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

My oldest has the flu now and so does my mom. Because my mom has been having problems with her COPD the Ambulance came got her this morning. She had 104.8 fever and couldn't really respond. When they got her to Tupelo she crashed. They have her incubated and in ICU, none responsive. So, I may not be on for few days. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.
Ps. As far as the Tornadoes, I guess we are okay. My house is still standing. I do know that a few towns near by got hit and so did Memphis, TN. I got the phone call about mom at 5 AM this morning and only come home long enough to take DJ to the Dr and look for her Living Will. I sat down here just long enough to cook supper. So, back to the hospital I go.

Book meme, Award & KB being sick

Today I decided to do 3 post in one. 1st I'll start with my book meme.
RegularMom tagged me for this.
This one’s a book meme. Short and sweet. The rules are:

Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
Open the book to page 123.
Find the fifth sentence.
Post the next three sentences.
Tag five people and ask them to do the same (unless you’re Doc, and unless you don’t want to, that is.)
Okay, at my desk I usually am surrounded by school books. The nearest book by me is "History of the United States"
These practices earned bonanza farmers huge profits. In one year, for example, Dalrymple grew 25 bushels of wheat per acre and sold it foe .90 cents a bushel, or $22.50 per acre. Since his investment cost were just $9.50 an acre, Dalrymple earned a profit of $13 an acre- a return of more than 100%.
Okay, I'm not going to tag anyone, but if you wanna play, be my guest.

jobeaufoix gave me this award.

Thanks girl! I also want to spread the Love! So, I want to pass it along.
I would like to give it to.... Dawn
June Bug
Heather K
Robin
Ami
Heather
Holly
and Laura
I really could have passed it to all on my list and a few more I have not added yet, but I thought I would allow these ladies to spread the Love if they wanna.
**************************
Now, KB. Bless her heart she has the Flu and Bronchitis. I really hope this don't spread through our whole family. The bad thing is she was at momma's this week end. I sure hope mom don't catch it. I'm trying to stay away from momma's till we are clear, but she needs me I take a bath. We have never had the Flu in the house before so I guess I'm in for a treat! The Dr. really stressed that if she gets any worse to bring her back because so many has already died of it this year. Well, I guess I need to go the store and get some Gatorade and pop cycles before the bad weather gets here. We have Tornado warning out for today till midnight.
Hope yall have a wonderful day.

Fun Monday: My Bucket List

Tiggelane is our hostess this week and here are her rules: Have you heard of The Bucket List? Well, that's what I want from you! Make a list of things you want to do before you die. It must be at least five items - and you can make it as long as you desire. Photos are optional. And let's hear about some of the wackiest, most bizarre to-do's on your Bucket List!

Gosh! I can't wait to see the movie! I bet my top 5 will not be as exciting, here is my list.
1- Go water skiing
2- Travel around the world.
3- Finish writing a book.
4- Go deep sea fishing.
5- Go play in some real snow.

I know my list is bot really bizarre or crazy (except the water skiing), but it is a few things that I have talked about over the last few years.
So, go ahead and check out some more Fun Monday List.
Hope you have a Wonderful day!

You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life.

And because you're so lucky, you don't really have a lot of worries. You just hope for the best in life.
You're sometimes a little guilty of being greedy. Spread your luck around a little to people who need it.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.

You are loving, compassionate, and ruled by your feelings.
You are able to be a foundation for other people... but you still know how to have fun.
Sometimes your emotions weigh you down, but you generally feel free from them.

Bloggerish Meme

Ami tagged me for this the other day and I'm just now getting to it. I guess its better to late than never!

How long have you been blogging? My very 1st post was Wednesday, March 29, 2006. I can't believe it has been almost 2 years since I 1st started blogging.
What inspired you to start your blog, and who are your mentors? I was 1st introduced to the world of blogging from some ladies at THE DENIM JUMPER. It is a Home School forum. I feel really bad, but I can't remember who helped me get my blog set up. (I should have made a note of that.) Ami, Amy, Heather, and Laura are some of the very 1st ones who inspired me and has been there for me. I hope I didn't miss anyone.
Are you trying to make money online, or are you doing it just for fun? I have thought of trying to make money, but haven't. I 1st started off just keeping a journal of my kids and life. My blog has ventured since the beginning, but its okay. It's still my life.
What 3 things do you love about being online? Friends, friends and more friends! Really! What better way to learn about people and their world. I'm kind of weird if you stop and think about it, but that's okay too. What I mean is that I'm very friendly (my mom says I'm over friendly), but it takes a while to get to know me before I warm up.
You can do more research faster on the Net. And last, but not least games. I am so addicted to Chicktionary.

Now it's my time to tag. Gosh one is hard, but here I go. I would like to tag Deb's, Sandy, Pamela and Dawn.

I went on a date!

I was going to do another meme I got tagged for, but I guess I'll do it tomorrow while Dan watches the Super Bowl. My boys had to go to Jackson for work shops to get ready for competition in March and KB was at momma's. I thought I was going to have a whole day here all by myself. Boy! Did I ever get a shock! I'm so use to Dan going hunting, fishing or something, but today he didn't go any where. He told me it was my day. We went to the Movies and out to eat. No house work! Nothing, but a quite and enjoyable time. This was the first time in a year or two that we did anything like this. We really needed this day. I really hope we can and will do this more often. Hopefully we will.

Wild weather & meme

The first part of my post is about our wild weird weather we had yesterday. We were suppose to have freezing rain early, then later when it warmed up just rain with little chance of thunderstorms. We had it all, all day long. Sleet, rain, hail, thunder, lighting, and it was 36 degrees. I'm not saying do a little of this here and then do a little of the other. I mean all at the same time all day. We had Winter advisory/thunderstorm advisory. I have never seen anything like it. Seems like this year our weather is very unusual. I'm not just talking here in Mississippi, but all over.
****************************************
Okay! Holly tagged me for this meme. She wanted to know the first really upset that happened with my kid/kids/family
This one is a little hard, because we have so many and I have 3 kids. So, I'm going to do the ones that stand out the most and one for each child.

I'll start with my oldest DJ. When Aron was a little over a year and JB was just a few weeks old. My fan on my car had quit working. Dan fixed it where I would have to raise the hood and connect the wires when I 1st got in the car and when I got where I was going I would have to raise the fan to disconnect the wires. One day when I got to church I got out with the boys with JB & diaper bag on one shoulder and Aron by my side. Like always I raised the hood, put it on my shoulder disconnected the wire and pulled my shoulder away from the hood for it would shut all by its self. Little did I know that Aron had his hand up on the car. So!!!! When I slammed the hood he screamed. I went and open the hood back up, not dropping Josh, picked him up and ran in the church. When I got in the church the boys and I was crying. I screamed and told the church what happened. I tossed Josh to someone (still have no idea who) and ran to the back with Aron to call Dan or my mom. All the ladies followed me to the back. The pastor's wife ran to her house in back to get ice and make the call because the church phone was messed up. One of the ladies said, We need to pray! She told Aron if he said Amen, that meant he believe that God could and would help him. As soon as we prayed he said Amen to the top of his lungs. When Dan and mom got there his hand was fine. His bones was no longer sticking out. Not even a bruise! Believe me or not, but this happened! Right after that Dan fixed the fan switch inside the car.

When the kids were real small I gave their baths together. One night while I was giving them a bath the phone rang. I ran to get it and when I walked back in the bath room Josh stood on the side of the tub and yelled "I'm Super Man!" before I could leap to him he slipped and hit the commode. I saw white where his chin starts and I thought he had ripped his bottom lip off. I dressed 3 kids faster than I have ever in my life. I called Dan, my mom and his mom. Then I went as fast as I could to the ER. I was a nervous wreck and too scared to take the bath cloth off his face. When my mom got there she took the bath cloth off him. To our good, the white I had saw was a big chunk of our commode.

Last but surely not least, KB. When she was 2 1/2 years old she broke her nose. Aron was throwing a bike tire up and it landed on her nose. I took her to the ER and the Dr said she was too young to have that bone that would break. Boy was he ever wrong!

My kids are 14, 13 and 10 and I have so many more stories. I could really write a book! LOL!

I just remembered one more thing KB did that is funny in a way now. My purse had got stolen just before Christmas. So 2 days after Christmas I had went to get a new drivers license ans new SS# cards. On the way back home KB came out of her car seat. (I didn't have my car on cruise) I turned around and told her to get back in. I told her that I was going to pull over and spank her. I turned back around to see blue lights. I told Kb if she would put on her seat belt I would buy her a sucker, but she didn't. The law came over and wrote me a ticket for speeding and one for no child restraint. When he walked off she got back in her car seat and said, did I do good momma? I was so mad! When I walked in momma's she knew I was mad and asked what had happened. When I told her she asked if I had spanked her. I told her I was too mad and I wont spank mine when mad. Well, momma spanked her with her crippled hands. I know it didn't hurt, but to let KB tell it maw maw spanks the hardest of anyone. I have never had any more problems with her using the car seat or seat belt.

I think this is a neat meme and different than most. at this time I'm not going to tag anyone, but if you want to go head and be my guest!
Try it you may like it.
