Fun Monday "Show me your favorite ornament"

Katabug is our host this week and this is what she wants...
In the spirit of the season I would like to see your favorite Christmas tree ornament. Not to be confused with the WHOLE tree. I want you to zoom in and show me one or a few(you know I can't choose just one!) of your favorite ornaments. If you don't decorate a tree, show me your menorah or dreidel, Kinara, or Yule Log. I want to see your favorite decoration for this holiday season
Here are my, I guess you can say favorite....

The first one is a Christmas reef I made with some of my extra angles i had used to make candles.
The second one is one a elder lady made my kids long ago.
The third one is my cinnamon/applesauce ornaments I make every year. I have to re-tract my recipe on these because I wrote it down wrong last time.
1 cup apple sauce
1 jar of 4.25 oz ground cinnamon
mix well and it will come out sorta like a biscuit dough. Roll them out like you would roll out biscuits and use cookie cutters to make any shape you want. Use a toothpick to make a small hole to be able to put a string through. Bake @ 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Let slightly cool and use a spacula to loosen from cookie sheet. Let set over night to finish drying out. The next day you can put a sting or ribbon in the hole and hang on your tree

Say don't feel obligated to do that meme now, just wait til later if you want to, no hurry at all. It can keep. If I can help you with the link, I woud be glad to. You see in your post where Kaytabug's name is, if you went back to edit your post and highlighted her name and clicked on that link button(the sixth one over from the left) you would enter her URL of her blog (http://mommak3lilmen.blogspot.com) and click ok and that should make her name a link to her blog. It should change color and be underlined automatically. I hope that makes sense.

Ah, that's what we need to do, the cinnamon ornies! I think our last one broke this year...did you know they keep well? Only the smell tends to fade out.

I'm going to be brave and say sign me up for next week!

As a school teacher I just have to correct you on the use of the word Christmas reef. That is actually a Christmas wreath not reef.:) Still even with the wrong word it is lovely. Ive never made the applesauce one but there is one on my tree made by my daughter that is now twenty years old and still in fine shape!

If I ever get my Christmas joy and mojo back, I'm making the applesauce/cinnamon ornaments with my niece and my cousin's three sons! Those are great!

I love making those ornaments. My Mom taught it to me. We also throw a little clove in to make them extra smelly and we use a straw to make the holes perfectly round. :-)

Glad I could help with the link. Now maybe you can tell me about the sticky note.

I am still planning on making those some time, but maybe with an everyday theme. I have a small straw hat that has dry apples and cinnamon sticks on it that I hang in the porch most of the year. I could do something like that with them.
