Handcrafter's Holidays Meme

I found this meme over at Heather K's blog and I thought it would be neat. If anyone wants to do it that will be fine and fun!

Gifts
Do you have a favorite gift that you love to give? Home made sweets of all kinds and candles.

If you’re making gifts this year, what are you making? (Post photos if you have some!) I'm not making nothing but my candies and cookies this year to give, but have made candles. I plan on making quilts next year for family gifts. (I have my photos of a few candles below.) I also use old CDs and put either fabric or wall paper on it to make cute little pictures to sit around. (Pictures below)

Do you have any good stories about handcrafted gifts you’ve given or received? My mom has been a nurse for 44 years and has worked most of them in nursing home. A lot of her patience have made me stuff over the years. I have baby blankets, booties, bells (picture below on my fun Monday) and several other things.
I also made home made stick horses on year for all of my little nephews. (The picture is below)

Do you have any great gift compilation ideas (a grouping of gifts just perfect for certain recipients?) home made sweets

Name one thing on your personal wish list. A digital camera.

Do you make and sell things that would make fantastic gifts? I'll be making quilts next year. I made candles last year. No, haven't sold just gave. I may sell my quilts latter on down the road.

Traditions

What is your favorite family holiday tradition? Making cinnamon ornaments. I love to get a pot of water to boil and put cinnamon and orange peels in it. It makes your house smell so good!

Have you started any new traditions with your family that you didn’t practice growing up? Yes, cutting a fresh tree as a family and cinnamon ornaments.

What do you love most about the holiday season? Family time! And the smells.

What do you like least about the holiday season? The fact that it has become so commercialized.

Anyone close to your heart that you’ll be missing this year? My daddy and my Uncle Paul. Their our others I miss, but they have been gone longer, so this year it's kinda hard not having these two. My daddy always wrapped our gifts in the funny papers.
EDIT:
my little brother in law. I have only saw him once in 2 years and it will be 8 more years before he come home.

What is your favorite holiday food? A spiral ham and this freezer cake my mom makes. I really need to get her recipe!

Do you have a great recipe to share?
I have already shared so many though out my blog. Just go check them out if you like.

Merry Christmas and Many Blessing to you and yours!

WOW that is really neat!

I try to make an ornament or a small picture with my stitching. I only give to someone who will appreciate it. :D

I love that your dad wrapped your presents in the funny papers. I have little things like that that my grandfather used to do that now I'm doing for my son. Butter on the nose for your birthday, egg fights on easter, just little things that end up meaning so much.

Cinnamon and orange peels in boiling water? That does sound like it would smell very wonderful. Might have to give that one a try.

I love the spicy smelling candles at this time of year, and I got a Frosted Pine reed diffuser for the bathroom that smells great also.

i made the felt horse candy cane holders, if you buzz over to my blog you can see them. i am also trying to get some other goodies made and possibly give them away such as chex mix and cracker jack. but i am missing a few vital ingredients and have no car. my hubby wasn't willing to get out this weekend and i'm a chicken poop when it comes to driving on these narrow subdivision roads on ice. i'm afraid of running into the idiots that still park on the street, which is why the darn road is still covered in ice, because they didnt move their cars... argh!
