A little of this & that, 2 awards, and Thank yous!

This week has been one heck of a week! Mom has back down and I can't seem to get caught up or do all that I need to do since I came back from the Emmuas walk. It almost makes me want to scream, " Let me off this merry go round". Well, it's not that bad yet, but close.
Monday I had to go to a Parent/ Teacher conference at JB's school. I have been locked jawed every since he went back into public school. I have to say after this week I can relax a bit. The conference went very good and his report card looked wonderful in it self. He had 2 A's, 2 B's and a C. For a child to be as behind as JB was he did a fantastic job!
The C was in science. After the parent/teacher conference the science teacher let JB retake his 9 weeks test. He let someone read it to JB and then JB had to write the answers. His 1st test was a 50 and the 2nd was a 89 1/2. That's a big difference and the science teacher sees what I have been saying. Now, I need to write him a letter of thanks and to say that now he knows how JB does best at test taking, what are we going to do. 1- I need to find out if he is going to continue doing this. 2- If the other teachers can do this. 3- How will this affect him once he gets in high school. This is one of the reasons I had such a hard time putting him back in school. He is a smart boy, but just has a hard time with reading comprehending. (I guess or is it just his dyslexia???) But he wanted to play football and has done very well!
Well, I guess that's enough rambling for now.

My 1st award:
Pinki gave me this award. Ain't she just the sweetest?!?
Here's the translation of the award and the meaning behind it:
“This blog invests and believes, in ‘proximity’ [meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' - being close through proxy] "They are all charming blogs, and the majority of them aim to show the marvels of friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize, and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut, or that they propagate?" Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to eight bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.”

"So my understanding is that this award goes to people who are charming, unselfish, and I want to give them more attention."

Charming? If you say so. LOL! Unselfish!! Yes. I'm speechless!

The eight blogs I find charming, unselfish and whom I want to give more attention to are:
1. Deb's
2. SabrinaT
3. Jettie
4. storyteller
5. Not Jenny
6. MOM #1
7. Holly
8. Ami Mental

I think it's awesome that the science teacher was willing to listen to you and that once again, you've proven that moms know best.

I hope the school is willing to do what they can for his specific needs.

I hope your mom starts to feel a bit better soon and that you're getting some rest when you can.

Thank you sweetie pie! I haven't figured out how to get my bling on the new version of WP so I'll just keep it in my pocket for now. :o)

I agree with Ami.

I'm glad everything worked out with the science teacher. Does he have an IEP, because oral testing can be written in.

Thanks for the award, you're a sweetheart.

Thanks so much for the award. I will put it on my desktop with the others I am suppose to get on my blog and hopefully will get to some blog updating soon. I commiserate with you in your feelings of the merry go round. I am glad the teacher gave him a rewrite, and it was a vast difference, how wonderful. At least you don't have to worry now. Here, the schools and even universities accommodate situations like your son's. I think it will all work out fine.

Thanks so much for the award. I just managed to get into your blog -- for some reason my computer wouldn't load it over the weekend.

That's a really neat story about the science teacher and the test. I hope you figure out how to get the other teachers on board with what he needs.

I so relate to you being busy and I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to get to your blog. I’ve got 1000+ unread posts in Google Reader and I’m beginning to think catching up may be hopeless, but I’m unwilling to ‘mark all as read’ and start over just yet. I’m so happy for JB’s success in school and the supportive interaction you’ve had with his teacher. Congratulations on all your well-deserved awards and thanks for sharing with me. I’ll look forward to passing it along to others soon. Thanks also for the ‘linky-love’ and I’ll try to check out the links here as time permits.
Hugs and blessings,
