A couple post bundled up in one

My 4 day get away to the Emmuas Walk was Wonderful! No phone, kids, hubby, having to do something for anyone, out in the woods, a bunch of wonderful people, time to reflect in a positive way and so much more! (Much needed rest and trip! It was worth it) Now, if things at home would be that peaceful I would have it made! (Like that will ever happened!) This week has been so busy and gone by so super fast!
"Energy is the essence of life. Every day you
decide how you're going to use it by knowing
what you want and what it takes to reach
that goal, and by maintaining focus."

Also this week my oldest that has never shown interest in hunting and doesn't like guns, went hunting with his dad this week and killed his 1st deer. Dan asked Rocker Dude (again) why he wouldn't go hunting and I told him to tell his daddy the truth. Dan seemed upset for a day or two, but got over it. Not only was there some healing with their relationship, Dan found out that Aron liked Bow and Arrows. So, Aron's 1st deer was with a bow. Here is a picture of his deer below.

Last, but surely not least, this is my 500th post! YEAH ME! If I have time tomorrow I will do 100 things about me in honor of my 500th post.

hanging on after others have let go."

Hope you have a blessed and wonderful week-end!

Welcome back! I’m glad to know your experience was wonderful and that you were able to ‘reflect positively’ & get some much needed rest too. Love the quotes ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

You came back?! Just kidding, sort of. Welcome back. How often do they have these walks, can you make it a semi regular event?

Im so glad you enjoyed your break Kitten, you really deserved it!

As for the hunting, I can't say Im pleased for your son, as I am very anti killing things! I don't even kill spiders! Is it just a sport for your husband or is the animal used for food etc? My son just saw the picture and was quite upset on the deer's behalf. I read the post to him and he asked why it was necessary for your son to hunt in the first place! Don't they have meat there mum? Hunting is not legal here so they have never encountered it at all!

I am not being judgmental as I understand things are different all over the world. I am however a little concerned for your boy if he has had to prove himself somehow here! We are all different afterall.
Perhaps he is meant to be a gatherer, rather than a hunter! There is no shame in that!

Hugs

I've been encouraged to go on that "walk"...just haven't found the right time.

My husband often hunted upland game birds when we were younger. Now he just rides his bicycle for pleasure. I don't think he ever hunted large game.

(ps. I didn't care for venison when I tasted)
