Fun Monday: Your favorite web site

This week our host for Fun Monday is -Ann and here is her assignment...I want to hear about a web site and not just about any old web site. I want to hear about a web site that's changed your life. A web site that you can't live without. A web site whose inventor you'd like to see win a McArthur Genius Grant.

Maybe you want to sing the praises of a dating web site for helping you meet your spouse. Maybe the only thing getting you through the dark days of winter is an Internet comic. No story is too big, no story is too small -

I couldn't think of nothing at first and almost didn't sign up, but then after thinking a while I finally came up with a post.
My brother Mike is completely different than me, but we have always had a special connection. A couple years ago he came over on Mother's day because he knew I was going through a hard time. (He's not much on words)(He don't even go to church) (You'll see my point in a minute) Okay!, he came over and handed me this little slip of paper and told me to go to this site. He knew I had problems falling a sleep while reading because of my Narcolepsy and had other issues with reading that we didn't know what they were till 3 years ago. We found out that I had Dyslexia. So, I had 2 negatives against me even thou I love to learn and I Love to dig to find answers when given the challenge. On the sheet of paper was a web site to Audio Bible I was now able to read my bible and start retaining what I read. It also taught me how to get around reading. I can go to sites and read on the web and that helps, but what helps the most is hearing and reading at the same time. So, thanks to my brother I can enjoy reading now. I also use this method with my 3 kids. At least they are getting it young and can enjoy reading and learning.
Even thou I do have other places I like to go on the web, this is the site that 1st helped me figure it all out.

Very sweet post. I listen to AudioBooks from time to time, but I find it too easy to mentally drift. But I see how reading and listening at the same time could reinforce both activites.

Thanks for playing this week's Fun Monday.

I keep telling my Sister that Brothers are wonderful, I'm never quite sure that she believes me though.

That was a great thing your brother did for you and so wonderful the site could help you with your disabilities. I think blogging probably helps you too, with practising in reading and writing.

Kitten, good for your brother! Not only did he understand your struggles but he also knew the source and approach that would help you solve your problem. I think you should keep him!

I love audio books and like to use them to pass windshield time on frequent long, boring drives.

What an awesome gift from your brother! As much as my brothers drive me crazy, they can be such sweethearts sometimes.

How cool - I had no idea this site existed. It would be good to use for my daily meditations at work - I like to take a few minutes each day, and this would be perfect, in the quiet of my office.

I have a site I go to that tells me the daily readings. It uses the English Standard Version which is a newer one but true to the Greek and Hebrew. Anyways it gives you the option of listening also. Plus I like the guys voice. So sometimes I listen and read; sometimes I just read. If I am really tired I will sit with my coffee and listen. At night at supper my husband often uses this for our evening devotions!

Great that your brother found that site for you. He obviously thought you could use the 'pick-me-up'.

Aw, that is so great. How great is our God! I have a copy of the bible on cassette from years ago. A man with a great voice reads them and I always thought how soothing it was to hear him.
