Homemade is better

We eat out about 3-4 times a year. (Mostly for Special occasions.) I break down every blue moon or so and get the kids some fast food, but as you know, blue moons don't come often. Hehehehe! Most of the time I will mimic what they are wanting and fix it at home, especially chicken wraps. I have not been very happy with the store bought tortillas lately, so last night I made my own! Guess who will not be buying store bought tortillas? Yes, you guessed it! It's me! My homemade tortillas were wonderful!

I don't know about you, but I find myself trying to take the easy way out and land up the food isn't as good as I first thought. Then I make it homemade and find out it is worth that little extra time. I guess you can say I have learnt that convenience isn't all that it is made out to be. Taking that little extra time is worth the taste and it is most of the time cheaper!

Sorry no photos, but I can tell you that it will be many blue moons before I buy store bought tortillas again.

Well, I got to get to mom's!

Hope you have a Blessed & Happy Easter!

Xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo!

Mmmm. Can I come over to eat? You reminded me we used to eat out, years ago, pre-child, at a place that made their own tortillas. They had a glass place in the center and a machine so you could watch. The rest of the food was o.k. but the warm, fresh tortillas were worth it.

Have a great Easter.

When Eric and I got married, he was a cook in a Mexican restaurant. He learned how to make all kinds of stuff from scratch. I got a cookbook as a gift, too. The lovely lady who wrote it was the grandmother of a friend of mine.

The Sopapillas will make you cry they're so good!

I have a friend that makes them. I guess I should get my mexican cookbook out and try it too.

Hope you had a lovely weekend.

Fresh is always best my dear, and especially as you know exactly what you and the kids are eating! I loathe take away food, mind you we do succumb to it in times of laziness! We are human after all! LOL!

did you mean groin? That seems to be a popular place for young men to get injured. ouch.

Your mom really has the kitchen sink of problems. I know that some of those diseases seem to go hand in hand with a lot of people.
