UPDATE

Remember momma's new puppy, Topper?

Well, this is him now. He has grown! He's going to stay at our house for a few day. He has done pretty good. He is real familiar with us. You can tell he misses momma. I couldn't leave him at her house all alone. The kids are enjoying having here. I mean he already was seeing us everyday and loved for us to come by because he had some play buddies. Now he has his play buddies 24-7. LOL!

This is all I know about Momma....My mom is in ICU at Tupelo. She got the flu and because of her other health problems, she was not able to fight this flu off. When she arrived at Tupelo she crashed and they had to resuscitate her. She had to be put on life support and is in a drug induced comma. I asked the Dr today if she would wake up. He said that she has not showed much improvement, but is stable. They will keep her in this state for 48-72 hours. We do not know how she will respond till then, but he feels she will bounce back. I know my mother is right with God, but I'm not ready to let go. She will be 62 in 8 days. So, we should now by Sunday or Monday how momma is going to do. I'm not even really sure how long she was without oxygen, probably not long since they were right there.
I really do appreciate all of you! Your thoughts, kind words, prayers or whatever. My kids are better. I have got to get back to the hospital and I'll be back to visit all of you in a day or 2.
Thank yall soo much!

Not the news one wishes to hear. She may be able to hear you - so when you are in her room, remind her of all the reasons to come back to you and her grandkids.

Take care (of yourself!!)

The main reason people get put on ventilators in situations like your moms is just to give them a rest from the work of breathing. The drug induced coma is partly so they'll tolerate the vent and partly to give their body time to rest and heal.

I'm an old ICU nurse and this usually doesn't mean "life support" the way we normally think of life support.

Hold a positive thought and try to not look at the worst side. We're all thinking of you.

I also agree with Pamela. I believe she can definately hear you, so please do talk to her a lot. And hold her hand so she can feel you as well.

I am glad she is resting and it will hopefully help her gain strength. How wonderful for Rotten Correspondent to explain that. The puppy is so cute, and you should tell your mom of his antics in case, as Pamela says, she can here what you are saying.

I want to make everything better, but I can't. I want to give you a hug, but I can't. All I can do is let you know that I'm thinking about you and your family and praying for you all.
